Will you help us?
Like all local charities, we are totally dependent on the generosity and goodwill of the people of Guernsey. Our objectives are bold; they are also vitally important in the contribution they can make to mental health and wellbeing.
Corporate social responsibility
Please consider us when deciding who will benefit from corporate charity donations.
We welcome volunteers to help with drop-ins, social events and fundraising activities, of which we have a full programme.
If you would like further information, or would like to help, please email or telephone us.
Family Fun Day
The Family Fun Day held in the grounds of the Castel Hospital on Sunday 11 August was a great success. It was attended by several hundred people, who enjoyed the bouncy castles, music, competitions, activities, BBQ, refreshments and cake stall until the clouds broke and it poured with rain! Takings on the day amounted to more than £700 and we’d like to say a big ‘thank you’ to everyone who supported our fundraising event.

L’vair made its first appearance on the high street when we took over OSA’s pop-up shop in Smith Street at the end of November. We used this valuable opportunity to raise awareness of our work and the services we offer, and devoted the space to a display of canvas-mounted photographs of local scenes and wildlife, taken by the charity’s co-Chair, Albie Drillot. Sales of the canvases were augmented on the final day, when we set up a mini-studio in the shop and provided on-the-spot family portraits, which were printed on canvas and delivered in time for Christmas.
The building was heavily clad in scaffolding and the weather was pretty awful, which reduced the number of visitors to the shop – but we were able to spread the word about L’vaïr and profits from the prints sold were added to our funds.
The Imperial Hotel was the kind and generous host for our Quiz Night on Sunday 1 December. With a full house of contestants, the questions were varied and challenging, the competition was lively and closely fought, the food was excellent and more than £650 was raised for the charity funds.
We would like to thank the local companies and individuals who have supported us with donations and fundraising throughout our first year, including BDO, Butterfield Bank, Nicky Clarke, The Guernsey Community Foundation, HSBC, Angie Ritchie, Rothschild, RBS, Waitrose.
